What You'll Experience

The Entrepreneurship Curriculum

This is a peer-learning program; you'll be guided by fellow Denison alumni, receive a structured curriculum and an AI companion who's with you at every step, and be accompanied by fellow Denisonians. Each module builds on the one before it, and helps you explore, validate, and start your business. Along the way you'll generate real Artifacts - documents like your Entrepreneurial Archetype Summary, Market Report, Brand Guide, and Business Plan - that you'll actually use going forward should you decide to start your business.

1
Know Yourself

Personal Foundation

Before you build a business, you need to know who and what you're bringing to it: your professional identity, values, skills, and the people already in your corner.

2
Know Your Readiness

Readiness & Derisking

Your risk tolerance, goals, lifestyle needs, and fears all shape what kind of business will actually work for you — and whether you'll stick with it when things get hard.

3
Find and Validate Your Idea

Idea Exploration & Validation

Generate real business ideas, pressure-test them against the market, and validate whether the opportunity is right — for the market and for you. You'll leave with a Business Validation Scorecard.

4
Build the Business Foundation

Business Model Construction

This is where your business takes shape beyond an idea — your brand, your business model, your numbers, and a clear picture of what it'll take financially to get it off the ground.

5
Prepare to Launch

What's Next

Final pressure-testing, a completed Marketing Plan, Operating Plan, and Business Plan, plus your program Scorecard and a personalized Next Steps Launch Guide — so you leave knowing exactly what to do next.

The Result

Real Artifacts, Not Exercises

Every module produces something you'll actually use — a document, a plan, a scorecard — not a worksheet you'll forget about tomorrow.

Guided by Your AI Companion

Every module is supported by an AI companion built to know the curriculum inside and out, remember everything you share, and help you think through ideas, pull in research, and turn your answers into real Artifacts.

1-on-1 With Mark and Cali

At the end of the program, you'll get a personalized one-on-one session directly with facilitators Mark Heckmann and Cali Orr — both fellow Denisonians — to take your results further.

Weekly Team Working Sessions

Fellow alumni give you new perspectives and actionable feedback on your entrepreneurial journey.

Accountability Partner Check-Ins

Go deeper and have more breakthroughs with your assigned partner throughout the program.

Frequently Asked Questions

What you need to know before you start

What if I don't have a business idea yet?
Not a problem! Many participants join without a clear idea. Module 3, Idea Exploration & Validation, is specifically designed to help you generate and pressure-test potential business ideas that align with your skills, interests, and lifestyle — with your AI companion's help every step of the way.
Can I do this while working full-time?
Absolutely. The program requires approximately 3-5 hours per week and is designed for busy professionals. Most activities are self-paced, and live sessions are offered at multiple times to accommodate different schedules.
How is this different from other entrepreneurship programs?
This program focuses specifically on validation and practical action rather than just education. You'll move through a 5-module curriculum with your AI companion as a guide, work with fellow Denison alumni who understand your background, and leave with a tested idea, a brand foundation, and a concrete action plan — not just theory.
What happens after the 30 days?
You'll leave with a validated business idea, a Brand Guide, a full Business Plan, and connections to fellow Denison entrepreneurs. While the formal program ends after 30 days, many participants continue supporting each other and stay connected through the alumni network.
Who is leading the program?
Mark Heckmann and Cali Orr, two fellow Denisonians who've built and run several businesses themselves, facilitate this program alongside a structured entrepreneurship curriculum and AI companion built specifically to support people navigating career change.
What technology will I need to participate?
All you need is a computer with a webcam, reliable wifi, and a Google account. We'll be using Zoom for video calls and Google Docs for supporting assignments.
What happens if I need to miss a live call?
No worries — we'll be recording all live sessions, so you can watch the replay on your own time.
What if I realize my idea won't work?
That's actually a success! The Business Validation Scorecard in Module 3 is designed to help you test ideas quickly and affordably before investing significant time and money. Many participants refine or completely change their ideas during the program — all outcomes are valid.
